Game Hunting Camps
Danaher
Camp. Hunting Area No. 150. This camp is in the famous South
Fork of the Flathead drainage, on the headwater of Danaher Creek
in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area. It is reached by pack train
over an excellent trail which is comparatively level; the distance
is about 20 miles. We have an exclusive commercial permit in what
is known as the Danaher Valley. This is considered one of Montana's
most beautiful valleys; besides the hunting, trout fishing is excellent.
Topo maps for the area are Danaher and Flint Mountain.
Deer
Park. Hunting Area No. 280 (This camp is not available for all
hunts).This camp is located northeast of the junction of the North
Fork of the Blackfoot River and the Dry Fork in the Scapegoat Wilderness
Area, at an elevation of 5000 feet. From this camp you can see the
old fire watch tower site of Falls Point. Like all of our camps,
Deer Park is accessible by pack train and saddle horse, and is about
9 miles from the North Fork Trailhead. Topo map for the area is
Lake Mountain.
Cooney
Creek Camp. Hunting Area No. 280.Cooney Creek Camp is on the
headwaters of the North Fork of the Blackfoot River in the heart
of the majestic Scapegoat Wilderness Area. This camp, like the Danaher,
is only accessible via pack train and saddle horse and is 14 miles
over a comparatively level trail which winds in and out of scenic
canyons. This camp is at 6000 feet and is ideally located in the
center of an area where 10 separate canyons converge. Most of them
end on the Continental Divide. We have an exclusive commercial permit
for this area. Topo maps for the area are Scapegoat Mountain and
Olson Peak.
